Breaking! Hibs secure Josh Mulligan transfer as David Gray explains where ex-Dundee man fits in
The Easter Road outfit moved to snap up the promising defender
Hibs have secured the signing of Josh Mulligan.
The defender, 22, was sought after by a number of clubs - as we exclusively told you via the Daily Record - including the likes of Oxford United and Cardiff City.
Rangers were also interested in the former Dundee starlet before their new regime arrived with Kevin Thelwell and Dan Purdy opting to turn their attentions elsewhere.
Mulligan spoke to other clubs at that time having decided to refuse a new contract at Dens Park and he chose Easter Road as his next destination.
The Leith outfit confirmed the news this afternoon and head coach David Gray explained why he was quick to move for the player.
"Josh was one of the most eye-catching young players in the Scottish Premiership last season and has a lot of the attributes and characteristics we look for in our squad," Gray said.
“He’s a young player that’s eager to progress and develop, and gives us extra options with his versatility as he is comfortable as a central midfielder or at right wing-back.
“We’re delighted to add him to the group, and look forward to working with him moving forward.”
