Dundee United are exploring a pre-contract deal for defender Evan Weir.

The Tangerines are looking to bolster their defensive ranks ahead of next season and see Walsall man Weir as a strong candidate.

The 23-year-old has had a good campaign with the Saddlers so far and has made 26 appearances for the club this season so far.
